CELEBRATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ETERNAL PASSOVER OF THE SERVANT OF GOD MARIA AMADA DEL NINO JESUS, IN THE CITY OF ARRIAGA, CHIAPAS.
"Nothing to do other than assure that the Heart of Jesus reigns"
This phrase full of missionary spirit, is one of the beautiful slogans of SD Maria Amada del Niño Jesus, whom with love, respect and admiration, her daughters named her: Our Mother Foundress.
She is a woman who passionately fell in love with the Heart of Jesus and worked with great zeal for the extension of his Kingdom, especially among the poorest. That is why her Beloved Spouse granted her the special grace of calling her to eternal rest in Arriaga, a small city in the state of Chiapas. A city that may not be the most important in the geography or politics of our country, but for us, her daughters, is one of the most significant places in the history of our Congregation, since it is there that Our Mother Founder finished her mission on earth. For this reason, we celebrate each year on February 4, in Arriaga, her eternal Passover, so we have done it this year in a very special way, for being the 50th Anniversary.
In this event, we have the presence of the Mothers of the General Government of the Congregation, sisters of other communities such as: Cuernavaca, Morelos; Acatzingo, Puebla and Mexico City; and of course: the sisters from all the communities of the María Amada Region.
The Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, José Luis Mendoza Corzo, was present in our community the day before. He honored us by presiding over the Eucharistic celebration in thanksgiving for our beloved Mother Maria Amada, with the participation of the students of the College and the entire educational community.
On the 4th, the Bishop of Tapachula, Leopoldo González González, presided over the Eucharist, accompanied by the priests: Pbro. Gonzalo Amarante, in charge of educational ministry in the Diocese of Tapacula, the Pbro. Jorge Alberto Hernández, Rector of the Seminary of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the Pbros. Javier Alfaro Gómez and Rodolfo Ramírez, both spiritual directors of theology; José Luis Torres Pedraza and José Cila, of the Order of Carmelites, came from the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois, to accompany us in this event. It is worth mentioning that they carry out their pastoral mission in the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Joliet, US), in which our sisters also work in evangelization together with the Fathers.
The Eucharist was celebrated at 12 noon in the courtyard of the College, with the main intention of thanking God for the life and work of His Servant Maria Amada; and thanked the Heart of Jesus for the 50th Anniversary of the consecrated life of Mother Gloria Inés Ramírez Peña, MSCGpe.
After the Eucharistic celebration, we shared food in a family atmosphere filled with joy. Then we enjoyed an artistic tribute in honor of the Servant of God Maria Amada, in which the students of our schools who won in the contest of oratory and singing participated in the month of January:
• Tepeyac College, San Cristóbal de las Casas
• Sor Juana College, Arriaga
• Fray Víctor María Flores Institute, secondary and preparatory
• Colegio Regina, from Comitán
Also, participated the folkloric ballet of the University of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, with the presentation of a stage of the State of Jalisco and another one of the State of Chiapas, alluding to the land that gave birth to her as the one who gave her, and the land that gave her the last goodbye in this world.
For those who attended this important event, we could also appreciate the beautiful murals they painted among many children and young people (students and external), on the outer walls of the same Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz School. The motto for this activity was entitled: Painting from the heart of Maria Amada. The artists participating were: Ameth de Jesús Aguilar de la Cruz, Jorge Hernández Barrientos, Lucy Marianne García Roque, Miguel de Jesus Hernández Ramos, Pedro José Clemente Pérez, Dos Ache Crew, Ernesto Rodríguez Gómez and Juan de Jesús Pérez Luna.
At dusk the same day 4, the sisters had a fraternal reunion to share the faith with Sister Norma Toledo Solano leading this enriching activity. First, we made a moment of prayer to the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe, in which we also shared personal experiences about the knowledge of the spiritual profile of Our Founding Mother.
The next day, we had a beautiful reunion at the beach, in Puerto Arista, thus strengthening our fraternal relationships. Precisely, every year a recreational walk is carried out on this beach, since it was the last place that our Mother visited, accompanied by the sisters of Arriaga. The same place where she began to feel so bad that she would die the next precise day, even though she had all the medical attention available.
We are grateful for the interest shown in the scheduling and implementation of the activities of this important anniversary, both on the part of the mothers of the General Government and those of the Regional Government. We also thank the Sisters responsible for the Cause of Canonization of the Servant of God Maria Amada, for the changes made in the room of Our Mother for this 50th Anniversary.
And finally, thanks to all the MSCGpe communities, who collaborated and became present. To so many good people Arriaga, who year after year support us with kind and lodging for the people who visit us for the Anniversary of the Eternal Passover of our dearest Mother Maria Amada.
May the Servant of God, Mary Beloved of the Child Jesus, with her example and her doctrine continue to lead us to the Heart of Jesus, so that as we love Him and serve Him more and better.
