Consecrated by the Consecrated
Mother Maria Amada, from young age responded to the call to consecrated life through the profession of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience, for love of the kingdom of heaven. She entered the order of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, at the age of 17, in 1913, in Mascota, Jalisco. Since she was a novice she expressed in word and deed, a great clarity and firmness in her vocation, as we read in her writings: "I met again my path and what my Jesus wanted from me. I realized that the job assigned to me was to be very faithful to the Lord and do not deny anything that He asked me. My vocation was clear: to love the Heart of Jesus until die for love. "
She made her religious vows on 1 January 1919. On several occasions she experienced the Heart of Jesus asked her to surrender to Him as a victim for the priests and consecrated persons with expressions like: "Comfort my heart so outraged and so poorly matched, especially of souls consecrated to Me. " And in response, the Servant of God made her life a continuous delivery for the salvation of all men, especially by priests and consecrated persons, as she wrote: "I gave my Jesus in the pain, so He can be loved, glorified and served, especially by the souls consecrated to Him. May your will be done, not mine!"
Reflection: In this Year of Consecrated Life, proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Francisco from November 20, 2014 to February 2, 2016, how I can I put my self in synchrony with this Church´s celebration? What I´m doing for the consecrated people? Can I do anything else? What the example of the Servant of God Maria Amada is telling me? How I can follow her example from the specific vocation to which God has called me?
